Shopping at Home Depot

I went shopping at Home Depot for tomato plants and seeds to add to our garden. Hope depot is good because they are every where. The carry the Arizona Fertilizer that I like to use. They also have just good general supplies like rakes, shovels and hand tools. This is one of the places that we get our bags of compost from which we add to our boxes.

But they don’t have a good choice of seeds and plants. The plants are all grown in California and shipped here and many of the plants they have for sale, just don’t do well in our Arizona climate. However, they do take returns. Keep your receipt and if your plant dies within 1 year, they will take it back, no questions asked.

If you buy their tomatoes, the larger ones come in an organic pot. You are suppose to be able to just plant the tomato pot and all into the ground. What I have found is the pot constricts the root growth and that will cause you to have a small harvest. The best thing is buy a plant in a plastic pot or carefully remove the organic pot from around the roots.

I have done a video on how to plant tomatoes to have a huge harvest. Watch that video next.
